sWitch Board FAQ

What is the sWitch Board?

The GPS sWitch Board is a number you can call or text to request a person to accompany you on Capitol Hill to walk you to your bar, bus, light rail or just wait wilt you until your ride share arrives.

How does it work?

Call or text (425) 470-3884 and our dispatch member will contact a volunteer to meet you at your location and help you get to your destination safely or stand with you while wait for your Uber, Lyft, Cab or designated driver.  Or walk with you to your vehicle, bus, light rail or other near-by destination.

What are the operating hours?

Weekends, Friday to Sunday, 10 pm – 3 am.

Who answers the phone?

Our sWitch Board volunteer operator will answer your calls or texts and help you connect with a buddy who can stay with you while wait for your Uber, Lyft, Cab or designated driver.  Or walk with you to your vehicle, bus, light rail or other near-by destination.

Who does GPS choose as the buddies to help out?

The GPS sWitch Board is a community-based volunteer group, many with security backgrounds, whom we vet for safety and integrity.

What are the boundaries of the service? I mean, can I call from Georgetown?

We are currently focused on the Capitol Hill area but as we grow, we are looking to help out in a number of different areas in the Seattle area.

It’s that simple.
